Luka Banjanin is an unemployed young man living with his parents in Belgrade. He hangs out with few devoted friends who, like him, are yet to find place in a society that discarded young intellectuals. He plays saxophone and dreams about going to Oktoberfest, the annual beer festival in Munich, but he's being unable to get passport because of a smaller drug incident he had in the past. Totally careless about his long-term girlfriend, he suddenly falls for a mysterious woman who seems to appear in the same places as him, and then vanishes as quickly as possible. Believing that he's at the wrong place at the wrong time, Luka wanders from one misadventure to another, gradually losing the contact with reality and living out his own Oktoberfest in his mind.

On the last day of the Munich Oktoberfest, the paths of different people cross: While Birgit questions her marriage to Max, single father Richard is caught in a conflict between his young lover and paternal responsibility - his son, whom he only sees very rarely, has been looking forward to an evening with him; but Richard also needs to talk things out with his young love. Meanwhile, some crazy Italians come to Munich. Alessandro falls in love with a newly married Japanese woman. A traditional showman's family fights against ruin and an embittered young wheelchair user who keeps the officers at the local police station in suspense with hidden threats...

Munich, 1905. Five years after the events of the first season, the battle between the brewery clans continues. Curt pursues ambitious goals that upset his son-in-law, Roman. The family could soon have a new competitor. Roman’s mother is confined to a mental hospital, and Colina reinvents herself as a singer in the Deutsche Eiche tavern after serving her prison sentence.

In a Stralsunder Bar's smoky backroom, Ludger Simon is found beaten to death with an iron bar after cigarette burn torture. * Simon had an Islamophobic blog and was active in the local violent Hooligan circles. The police soon finds indications those are planning a bombing, presumably at a Muslim target. A cop undercover as patient in the ward where psychotic presumed real leader Peter Marohn is in therapy proves in danger herself, Dr. Steiger being in league with him, and doubts arise about target and motive, while the cop colleagues rush to find and disarm the explosives.
